SAP Sybase DBA (Remote)

We are seeking a skilled SAP Sybase ASE Database Administrator to join a dynamic project for a duration of approximately six months. This is a remote opportunity based in Mexico, with flexible working hours from Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 18:00.

• Manage and maintain SAP Sybase ASE environments, including installation, configuration, and monitoring.
• Optimize database performance through query tuning, index management, and statistical analysis.
• Ensure database security by managing access controls, roles, encryption, and secure backups.
• Implement backup and recovery strategies to safeguard data integrity.
• Utilize monitoring tools to guarantee system availability and stability.
• Develop SQL and shell scripts for automating routine administrative tasks.

• At least 4 years of experience with SAP Sybase ASE administration.
• Hands-on expertise in performance tuning, security, backup strategies, and scripting.
• Familiarity with Oracle database concepts and migration processes (preferred).
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively.
• Good communication skills and technical English proficiency, especially reading logs and documentation.

• Experience with Oracle Database architecture and tools such as RMAN, AWR, etc.
• Experience in migration projects between Sybase and Oracle.
• Familiarity with tools like Oracle SQL Developer, Toad, or SAP Control Center.
