As a Firmware Test Engineer, you will be responsible for:
A successful applicant will have the ability to test the logic and software required to realize the system functionality, as well as ability to develop, test cases from given requirements for products across various P&Ls. This applicant will:
- Being responsible for the validation of Embedded Software (Firmware) platforms and systems.
- Translating their deep understanding of the functions and characteristics of the (embedded) device under test, to exhaustive feature validation test suite.
- Leveraging the V-model to ensure all product features are validated at release in a traceable manner.
Fuel your passion
To be successful in this role you will:
- Have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering or equivalent
- Have 2+ year's experience with formal verification
- Be comfortable in following documentation to setup and/or configure software and hardware
- Have professional understanding of embedded systems.
- Demonstrate experience in converting requirements into strong test cases.
- Have the ability to exploit weakness in requirements, as well as in software, and apply manual testing to "break" it.
- Have previous experience with triaging nightly test failures, defect filing & defect verifications process.
- Demonstrate professional familiarity with, Rally, Jira or similar.
- Be capable of concise and effective written and verbal communication in English
- Be an effective communicator within technical and non-technical environments
- Demonstrate ability to perform in a team environment, across functions, and with customers and suppliers
- Be intrinsically motivated and able to positively apply logic to technical problems.
Desired Skills:
- Have work experience in at least one of the following programming languages. Python, C++, C#, Java
- Have professional experience with ARM Cortex M processors
- Have professional experience with Real Time Operating Systems
- Have experience using bench-top tools like Oscilloscopes, Multimeters, Logic Analyzers etc. for debugging and test.
- Have experience with industrial sensors interfaces, and Supervisory Control and Data acquisition (SCADA) systems
- Have hands-on experience with tools source control tools like Git, and SVN
