A Day in Your Life at MKS:As a Sr. NPI Buyer at MKS instrument, you will partner with Supply chain project managers and a complete cross functional team to manage projects for new product introduction phase. In this role, you will report to the NPI Procurement manager.
You Will Make an Impact By:- Provide guidance for sourcing, planning, and purchasing decisions as part of a cross functional team responsible for new product development.
- Manage supply chain activities in coordination with the Design Engineering team to acquire material in a cost-effective and timely manner for development, prototype, and early production requirements.
- Manage tactical purchasing activities, such as expediting material, past due PO's, open PO's, PO confirmations, receiving, and accounts payable related issues
- Support RFQs to suppliers for new products including analyzing and negotiating quotations in coordination with the NPI Project Manager
- Participate in cross-functional meetings and project review meetings as a representative of the NPI Material Specialist team
- Assist with new supplier sourcing and integration, including contributing to the qualification and development of new suppliers as part of a broader sourcing strategy
- Recommend cost saving proposals, alternative sources, and volume pricing structures
- Maintain purchasing data integrity in ERP systems
- Manage the interface between Engineering and production ramp-up
- Manage project transition from development to production Travel Requirements: Up to 15-20 % of travel is required.
Skills You Bring:- A demonstrated background and proven experience with purchasing and supply chain tools
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficient in the use of ERP/MRP Systems, SAP, Oracle and Microsoft Office
- Advanced level ability in the use of Excel & Power Point
- A willingness and ability to influence and change the status quo
Required Skills:- Fluency in both English and Spanish languages
- A Bachelor's degree in business/economics or engineering with knowledge of Materials Management or Logistics
- CPIM and/or APICS certification (requirement is desirable to have)
- 5+ years of related experience
- A valid Passport, US Visa
