Cost Accountant

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Review manufacturing cost and Inventory transactions
• Review shipping and duties costs.
• Run the month-end costing process
• Lead the cycle counts and annual physical Inventory
• Review with engineering and products team the BOM's and routings of new products to be costed in SAP
• Working with global procurement and logistic team, develop and lead annually material and freight standard costs into SAP
• Review labor, variable and fixed overhead rates on a yearly basis.
• Review control of fixed assets and the depreciation cost rolling into SAP module
• Explains book to physical differences and establishes controls and procedures to eliminate inventory variances
• Analyze standards costs on periodic basis and review variances including reports of gross margins by product line
• Prepare accounts reconciliation tabs for the GL accounts involved on the position such as, Inventory of Raw Material, Semi-Finished goods, finished goods, Working Process, fixed assets, depreciation accounts, etc.
• Assist the Plant Controller for additional reports for internal and external needs, such as internal and external auditors, for government Secretary of Economy, SAT.
• Support the continuity of the inventory cycle counting program. Maintains compliance with policies including count assignments, count requirements, and documentation. Supports quarterly internal/external audits of the process. Provides supporting documentation as required. Monitors and reports accuracy and tracking of required counts to 100% completion.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, COMPETENCES AND ABILITIES:

• Experience in standard cost-manufacturing environment.
• Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Knowledge of SAP preferred.
• Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
• Extract from the system the report of the articles that will be counted during their daily work, validating that they coincide with those physically found in the plant.
• Perform their work within the budgeted parameters for determining the accuracy of warehouse management.
• Supervise those responsible for the warehouse area to carry out the correct administration and custody of the materials, safeguarding their physical specifications.
• Prepare and deliver the reports derived from their work in a timely manner.
• Carry out control tasks of the Investment Inventory in the Plant through the program previously established.
• Participation in the month-end closing, Three working days after the end of the current month.
• Lead the annual inventory of Fixed Assets in accordance with the corporate policy.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree (CPA)
• 4-6 years of experience in cost & accounting
• Manufacturing experience
