About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant specialized in tax compliance to join our team. This role will focus on managing short-term rental permits, and sales tax exemptions, and ensuring compliance with state sales tax requirements across multiple jurisdictions.

What You'll Do

• Determine sales tax exemption qualifications in various locations.
• Complete all necessary paperwork (certificates, renewals, etc.).
• Maintain organized records.
• Ensure accurate handling of exemptions within accounting systems.
• Reconcile sales tax accounts.
• Resolve discrepancies.
• Assist with sales tax audits.
• Set up new jurisdictions in the tax software system.
• Record short-term rental and sales tax transactions.
• Reconcile accounts and prepare monthly financial reports.
• Support month-end and year-end closing.
• Improve tax compliance processes.

What You Need

?

• Fluent English
• Ability to work in-office (Torre Esmeralda 3, Mexico City)
• Accounting or Finance degree required.
• Minimum three years of tax compliance experience
• Knowledge of sales tax exemptions is essential.
• Must be highly organized.
• Proficient with spreadsheets and accounting software.
• Familiarity with tax compliance software is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to understand complex tax regulations.
• Capability to work independently and adapt to changes in tax laws.
