Job Description
The Ongoing Product Development Engineer is a member of Ford Motor Company's Product Development organization. The OPD Engineer has responsibility for delivering designs consistent with ICA/MCA scale programs. Additionally, the OPD Engineer will have cross-commodity system level responsibility for creating and authoring tolerance charts. Further, the OPD Engineer supports Quality Sprints.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities for Candidates:
- Lead engineering commodity changes for future minor product launches
- Lead Application D&Rs and VO Body Construction teams to develop and author tolerance charts
- Support assembly plant with Stop Ships/Stop Builds, Campaigns, and Quality Sprints
- Engage technical experts and functional team members for driving resolution and in developing corrective actions to improve product Quality
- Make presentations to various levels of upper management (Program reviews, Quality Sprint reviews, Engineering Managers reviews)
Qualifications
Qualifications for Candidates:
The Ongoing Product Development Engineer should possess the following skills and experiences:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering, BSME or BSEE preferred
- Engineering Problem Solving; root cause identification and analysis, developing Containment Actions and Permanent Corrective Actions
- 2 years of experience in Body Shop build principals such as assembly flow, GD&T and dimensional
- Strong understanding of body and / or EDS automotive systems
- Ability to establish a system engineering approach to problem solving
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
- Excellent presentation skills-
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Tools for documentation and presentation and WERS
- Working in a fast-paced challenging environment.
- Ability to travel to support trials
- Open to Hybrid Work (Naucalpan)
