JOB DESCRIPTION:
Direct and supervise activities related to the importation of materials to the plant, coordinate intercompany, import, local, and national transportation, generate customs documentation for customs, coordinate virtual transfers between maquiladoras, maintain the customs system up to date, and support the customer service department in the Mexican invoice process.
Job Responsibilities.
• Responsible for overseeing transportation for IPOs (Interplant Orders), mill orders, and purchases.
• Assist in the generation of Customs invoices and follow up with the Customs Broker for their import.
• Oversee the daily operations of Import and Transportation.
• Work with shippers and customs brokers to generate annual savings and service improvements.
• Maintain the customs program up to date and upload customs declarations into the Inventory Control system.
• Collect all orders and delivery information to generate virtual customs declarations.
• Coordinate with clients on the generation of virtual customs declarations and ensure they are submitted in a timely manner.
• Create part numbers and a material pattern in the Customs program and update material costs in the BMS system.
• Work with the operations department and the internal sales team to determine which materials need to be imported on a definitive basis or if a temporary material needs to be converted to a definitive basis.
• Oversee the submission of automatic notifications and regime changes for domestic billing.
• Support and coordinate with Monterrey on the generation of Mexican invoices for domestic accounts.
• Work with suppliers to obtain NAFTA certifications.
Job Requirements
? Must have a VISA to travel to the United States.
? Bachelor's degree in Foreign Trade and Customs or a related field, with a minimum of two years of verifiable experience equivalent to related experience.
? Experience coordinating transportation and compliance with Mexican Customs.
? Knowledge of BMS systems and/or inventory control.
? Mathematical skills.
? Experience working for an IMMEX company, using the Anexo 24 program.
? Bilingual: fluent in English and Spanish, with spoken and written communication skills.
? Ability to exercise appropriate discretion and sound judgment in performing work tasks and maintaining confidential information.
? Strong work ethic.
? Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with coworkers.
? Demonstrated ability to perform within a team environment and contribute to the overall success of the team. ? Punctual, reliable, and competent.
