Specialization/Career:

• PhD in Mechanical Engineering or a Mechanical Science related category.
• Alternatively, MSc in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 3 years demonstrated previous experience in the FEA. modelling of industrial processes or research center.

Experiencie:

• PhD in Mechanical Engineering.
• MSc with 3 years demonstrated previous experience as part of academic studies or industry work.
• Participation and research stays with local or international research groups or local or international companies are a plus.

Languages: Advance proficiency level in spoken and written English.

Software:

• Mandatory: Microsoft Office; Abaqus/ANSYS (lineal and non-lineal, vibration analysis), MiniTab, Solidworks, Inventor.
• Desirable: Deform, Fluent (CFD studies), GD&T Analysis, Catia, GOM inspect 3D metrology, GOM Aramys (pre and post. processes), Digital Image correlation (DIC) studies.

Skills and Educational Requirements (desirable):

• Experience applying mechanical design criteria, Material Failure Models, Hot and cold deformation analysis of metals, Forging Processes, Fatigue, Solid Modeling in CAD packages (Inventor, SolidWorks, etc.), Knowledge in Engineering Techniques, Experimental measurement with Strain Gages, Thermocouples, Digital Image Correlation.
• Certified experience in the use of a commercial finite element package (ABAQUS, ANSYS, DEFORM, Altair, NASTRAN, MSC Marc, Fluent, etc.).
• Knowledge of mathematical analysis package such as Matlab, Mathcad, Mapple programming in C++, Visual Basic.
• Knowledge of the use of statistical analysis packages. Oil & Gas proven FEA processes experience.

Other skills:

• Confident with technical discussions.
• Ability to work with some level of independence, with a high drive to obtain results with some supervision.
• Interest in developing a career in industrial applied research.
• Proactive, focused on details and ability to manage several tasks.
• Easiness for working in a manufacturing industrial environment in combination with related specialized laboratory work.
• Willingness to approach several research topics.
• Confident speaking and writing English.
• Committed, professional and ethical engineering values during problem solving.
• Positive thinking and self-motivated.
• Ability to self-learn.
• A very proactive, professional and ethical behavior at all times.
• Ability to interact with local work groups and those from other countries.
