Aptiv is seeking a manufacturing planning engineer to focus on new quotes and program launches.

My role:

• Responsibility for Manufacturing (MFG) cost management of assigned Products in the region from early quote phases up to series production
• The planner designated as the Regional Lead Planner for a product group is the primary planner for MFG quotes for that product in that region,
• Attend kick-off and peer review meetings, and prepare quotation files for the industrialization of new products, with technical support of the Engineering Group Manager (EGM) and Lead Manufacturing Engineer (LME)
• Provide 'Gap to Target' analysis and gap closure plans for quotes
• Support the EGM/LME online concepts concerning cost and estimated cycle times
• Align all capital requests and prepare/support the operation requests
• Make initial Capital Forecast Tool (CFT) entries in CFT after the business is won and AR is approved
• Support LME on PR activities for products in the region
• Support Manufacturing System Design (MSD) activities
• The planner also designated as The Global Leader for a product group is responsible for ensuring all quotes for that product group are done consistently and will work with the Product MFG Eng Chief to resolve any process concerns impacting a quote. This role will also serve as the MMFG interface to the GP organization supporting Platform Product development for designated products
• Planner also designated as the Global Capacity Leader for a product group is responsible for overseeing global capacity for designated product groups, participating in monthly capacity reviews with relevant sites, managing the capital forecast (CFT) and budget for the designated product groups, and ensuring funding plans are in place for needed equipment & tooling
• Budget planning - CAPEX

My background:

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Finances
• 1-3 years of experience in a similar position
• Proficient communication in English (70% of the time will be in contact with foreign customers)
• Ability to understand and learn new concepts quickly
• Proficiency Excel
• Knowledge of budget, forecast
• Knowledge of SAP
