Supplier Quality Leader

Position Summary:

Support and manage the quality of products and processes supplied by external vendors. Ensure supplier compliance with quality standards and drive improvements to enhance overall supply chain efficiency and product quality.

Principal Responsibilities

• Team Supervision: Lead efficient day to day operation of the Supplier Quality Engineers, including resources review; hiring, performance review and development of personnel. Direct daily workplace activities of Supplier Quality Engineers in the plant.
• Issue Resolution and Communication: Interface with suppliers to identify and resolve Supplier Corrective Action Reports (SCAR), analyze supplier quality data, and ensure timely communication and resolution of quality concerns.
• Supplier development and parts evaluation (PPAP): Lead Audit and assessment efforts to verify supplier compliance with quality procedures, collaborate with suppliers to improve their quality management systems, processes, and performance. Provide training and support as needed to elevate supplier capabilities. Lead the PPAP review and approval process with suppliers to ensure new and modified parts meet all quality requirements before production begins.
• Quality Metrics Management: Track, analyze, report, and improve supplier quality metrics.
• Incoming Inspection: Oversee the incoming inspection process for materials and components supplied by vendors. Develop, implement, and maintain incoming quality control plans as required. Ensure that incoming products meet quality specifications and standards. Including control over non-conforming inventory in plant hold location.
• Continuous Improvement: Lead continuous improvement initiatives and special projects related to supplier quality as assigned by the Quality Manager (QM). 

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, or a related field.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Leadership abilities with a team-oriented mindset.
• Proficiency in quality management systems, supplier quality tools and quality tools including PPAP and Incoming inspection.
• Advance use of MS Excel
• 5-10 years of experience
