Production Supervisor – Bearing Manufacturing Plant

Job Summary

A global leader in the bearing manufacturing industry is seeking a highly qualified Production Supervisor to oversee shift operations at its high-precision plant located in San José Iturbide, Guanajuato. This role is responsible for supervising production lines, managing direct labor personnel, and ensuring strict compliance with safety, quality, and productivity standards. The ideal candidate will bring a solid background in manufacturing operations—preferably within the automotive or bearing sectors—and a strong commitment to continuous improvement and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate production activities during assigned shifts to meet daily output targets and quality standards.
• Supervise and provide direction to a team of 40–50 operators, ensuring optimal performance, safety, and discipline.
• Monitor and report key production indicators (KPIs), including OEE, scrap rates, cycle times, and line efficiency.
• Enforce adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and established manufacturing protocols.
• Apply Lean Manufacturing and Kaizen methodologies to drive continuous improvement and resolve production issues using 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagram, and Root Cause Analysis.
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation of production activities, incidents, and shift handovers.
• Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams in the validation and startup of new equipment and tooling.
• Support the training, evaluation, and development of production personnel; maintain and update skills matrices.
• Promote a safety-first culture by enforcing protocols, conducting inspections, and participating in incident investigations.
• Contribute to plant initiatives related to process improvement, quality assurance, and operational excellence.

Mandatory Requirements

• Bachelor's degree completed (Engineering or related field) – official degree certificate required.
• Minimum of 3 years of proven experience as a Production Supervisor or similar role in the automotive or bearing manufacturing industry.
• Proven experience in the application of Lean Manufacturing principles, including Kaizen, 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagram, and Root Cause Analysis.
• Conversational English proficiency (Level B2 or higher, C1 preferred) – able to interact in meetings, read technical documentation, and communicate with global teams.
• Availability to work rotating shifts:
• 1st Shift: Monday to Saturday, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
• 2nd Shift: Monday to Saturday, 3:00 PM – 10:30 PM
• 3rd Shift: Monday to Friday, 10:30 PM – 7:00 AM

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the launch or scale-up of new production lines.
• Technical knowledge of metal transformation processes (e.g., machining, extrusion, vulcanization, heat treatment).
• Familiarity with quality systems and manufacturing documentation.
• Ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams and maintain high performance under pressure.
