Our client, a manufacturing facility located in Mexico, has partnered with ML6 in their search for a Materials and Logistics Manager to join their team! In this role, you will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing the materials and logistics operations of the company. You will be responsible for ensuring the efficient flow of materials and products, coordinating with suppliers, managing inventory levels, and overseeing transportation and logistics processes. Fluency in both English and Spanish is essential for effective communication with internal teams and external stakeholders.
What You'll Be Doing:
Develop and implement strategies for materials planning, procurement, and inventory management.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to determine the materials requirements based on production schedules and forecasts.
Identify potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and maintain strong relationships with vendors.
Monitor inventory levels to ensure optimal stock availability while minimizing carrying costs.
Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials, components, and finished goods.
Monitor supplier performance, resolve any issues, and implement improvement plans as needed.
Collaborate with production, quality assurance, and engineering teams to address material-related concerns and drive continuous improvement.
Oversee the warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, and dispatching of materials and finished goods.
Implement efficient inventory control processes, including cycle counts, stock replenishment, and obsolescence management.
Optimize warehouse layout and material handling procedures to maximize efficiency and minimize errors.
Manage transportation activities, including scheduling, routing, and tracking of shipments.
Coordinate with freight forwarders, carriers, and customs brokers to ensure smooth import and export processes.
Monitor transportation costs and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies related to materials, logistics, and international trade.
Maintain accurate records of inventory, materials transactions, and transportation activities.
Prepare reports and metrics related to materials and logistics operations for management review.
What You'll Need to Be Successful:
Bachelor's degree in related field.
Proven experience in materials management, logistics, or supply chain roles.
Strong knowledge of materials planning, procurement, inventory control, and warehouse management principles.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Familiarity with transportation and international trade regulations.
Excellent communication skills in both English and Spanish.
Proficiency in using materials management systems and software.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
