This role is responsible for supporting financial analysis for an assigned department or plant to ensure that the company's financial objectives are met. The position will work to understand business strategies and goals, and then propose financial plans that support those goals. Additionally, the Financial Analyst will propose recommendations to improve profitability and increase return on investment. They will be responsible for the integrity of financial information including understanding cost allocation processes and the data included in project or product business cases.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Propose expertise and guidance on financial matters for consideration
Understand the business goals and objectives, and assist in developing financial plans to deliver the financial objectives of the company including cost, revenue and margin targets for the business
Assist in preparing and monitoring financial forecasts for the monthly IBP process and annual AOP process
Help to interpret financial reports, including variances vs. AOP, prior year and prior months
Analyze business performance and financial data, which may include customer pricing and incentive programs, cost center reports, activity rates, variances, inventory valuation, and logistics costs
Assist in preparing regular financial reports and presentations to communicate business performance and key drivers to senior management and other stakeholders
Assist in preparing financial analysis for scenarios that optimize financial performance, including proposals for new initiatives, cost-saving measures, and investment opportunities
Propose ROI analyses (NPV, IRR, payback) for projects such as new products, capacity expansion, and automation
Participate in cross-functional projects with Finance, Accounting, Engineering, Operations, and Product teams
Stay up-to-date on industry trends, competitors and market conditions, and provide insights and analysis to support business decision-making for consideration
Collaborate with Power BI, Accounting, Sales, Manufacturing and Supply Chain teams to ensure consistency of data across company
Supply Chain Finance: Support plant accounting activities during month end and year end close, as needed
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in finance, accounting, business, or related field of study and three (3) years of experience in FP&A or related role
Financial analysis and modeling skills
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders
Experience working with cross-functional teams and building relationships
Ability to maintain composure and adapt in a dynamic, fast-paced, customer-focused work environment characterized by rapid change, minimal lead times, and multiple competing priorities
Functional/technical skills including problem solving, drive for results, decision quality, interpersonal savvy, strategic agility and innovative thinking
Experience in the Food Service and National Accounts industry, preferred
