This Role
The Fraud Strategy Director will join PayJoy's Financial Product team (Risk Strategy, Legal, Data Science, Data Analytics, Fraud Strategy and Fraud Ops). You will be responsible for defining and implementing strategies and processes that optimize the tradeoff between good customer conversion and fraud reduction in PayJoy's point of sale phone finance and credit card products. This role will work in close collaboration with credit strategy, product, engineering, data science, sales and operations. Successful candidates will define anti-fraud strategies for PayJoy's merchant-distributed and direct to consumer channels, be deeply quantitative and possess a balanced view of anti-fraud and conversion where economic outcome is the northstar. Responsibilities
Define PayJoy's anti-fraud strategies for point of sale phone finance (merchant distributed)
Define PayJoy's anti-fraud strategies for credit card (consumer direct)
Measure the efficacy of PayJoy's anti-fraud strategies
Implement strategies that balance the tradeoff between conversion and fraud prevention
Design strategies that are automated and highly scalable
Manage PayJoy's Fraud Operations team
Collaborate with Sales to craft fraud policies for merchants that distribute PayJoy
Build a fraud feedback loop that identifies potential lock vulnerabilities, triages them and appropriately escalates issues to PayJoy's Lock Engineering team
Mentor and build a high impact fraud analytics team
Requirements
7+ years designing anti-fraud strategies for consumer lending portfolios
3+ years managing and growing a team
Strong SQL skills
Able to use programming, processes and collaboration with business to drive results
You have negotiated exceptional contracts with 3rd party data vendors
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, global startup environment
Experience with merchant distributed consumer lending products is a plus
