Key responsibilities:

Search platform migration – Lead the migration from legacy systems to Elastic Cloud, building and optimizing a full ELK stack architecture.

Relevance engineering & AI integration – Improve search performance and relevance using techniques such as BM25, Semantic Search, Query Expansion, and integration with ML models for reranking and personalization.

API development & cross-team collaboration – Design and build scalable APIs to support intelligent search features, collaborating with Product, DevOps, and Data teams to improve user experience.

Key skills:

Technical proficiency – Strong experience with Python and MySQL, 3+ years working with Elasticsearch, and familiarity with ELK stack tools and FastAPI in production environments.

Analytical & experimental mindset – Passion for continuous improvement, experimentation, and data-driven development.

Team mentorship & communication – Ability to mentor engineers, share knowledge effectively, and work across multidisciplinary teams.

Nice to have: Experience with vector databases and embeddings, and working knowledge of Machine Learning workflows or collaboration with ML Engineers or Data Scientists.
