International bank is looking to add a Solutions Architect to focus on integrating their existing systems with the FIS core banking system. This requires a comprehensive review of the entire ecosystem, including internal systems, FIS, and all third-party applications. A deep understanding of the technical architecture and engineering efforts is essential, with approximately 80% of the work centered around database systems.
The effort involves multiple architectural domains:
- Data Architecture – Managing data migrations and transformations.
- Application Architecture – Overseeing platforms like nCino and Salesforce.
- Security Architecture – Working closely with the CISO to ensure secure system transitions.
- Solution Architecture – Addressing daily integration and transformation requirements, including system-to-system conversions.
Solution Architects are needed to support IBS conversion, bank integration, or broader enterprise-level projects. The role includes engaging with PMO and business stakeholders to gather requirements, performing Technology Impact Analysis, and identifying optimal solutions. It also involves cross-functional collaboration with:
- BI teams to develop ETL processes,
- Network teams to manage infrastructure needs such as firewalls.
Experience with FIS is a strong advantage, though it's recognized that not all banks use the same core system. A well-rounded understanding of how different systems and functions align is crucial to the project's success.
