The Database Administrator consultant architects, designs and provides governance of database solutions that deliver business value across the organization, continuously improving the ability for our IT partners and business to execute effectively and efficiently. A database administrator builds and maintains database systems for the enterprise. The role encompasses all activities related to database systems such as Installation, Configuration, Database Design, Migrations, Performance Monitoring, Capacity Planning, Security, Troubleshooting, Backup and Data Recovery, and consulting with external partners on projects.

To ensure success as a database administrator, you should be an excellent problem-solver and communicator that is fluent in most data manipulation languages. Ultimately, a top-notch database administrator should have extensive knowledge of the databases under their administration and display sound technical skills and administrative aptitude.

What you'll be doing

• Monitoring system performance and identifying problems that arise.
• Responding in a timely manner to user-reported errors.
• Protecting the database against threats or unauthorized access.
• Ensuring that the database is adequately backed up and able to be recovered in the event of memory loss.
• Designing databases with both front-end and back-end users in mind.
• Expert knowledge of systems design, enterprise architecture and implementing large retail business systems.
• Installation, Configuration, Database Design, Migrations.

What you'll bring

• A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
• A minimum of 6+ years of experience as a database administrator.
• A minimum of 3+ Years of experience in Goldengate Administrator.
• 2+ years of experience in AWS Cloud services (or Other Cloud Providers).
• Analytical mindset and good problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Highly organized and responsible.
• Capable of working under pressure.
• Have a deep understanding of multiple database platforms (MS SQL, Oracle Database, or PostgreSQL)

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree required in Computer Science, Information Technology or Computer Engineering or related field of study.

• Preferred to have certifications for this position is Certified in Oracle Database, AWS Cloud Practitioner, Goldengate Implementation. (Optional).
