The Purchasing Manager is responsible for leading the procurement function to ensure timely and cost-effective adquisition of materials, components, and services necessary for automotive production. This role involves managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, ensuring compliance with quality standards, and driving cost savings while maintaining high performance in the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with company goals and production schedules.
Identify, evaluate, and qualify suppliers, ensuring quality, reliability, and cost competitiveness
Negotiate contracts, pricing, and delivery terms with suppliers, maintaining strong relationships
Collaborate with engineering, production, supply chain, maintenance and quality departments to ensure supplier performance meets technical and regulatory requirements
Ensure compliance with corporate policies, industry standards and legal requirements
Lead and develop the purchasing team to enhance performance and productivity.
Prepare reports and KPIs to track purchasing performance, savings, and supplier metrics.
Qualifications:
Bachelor´s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related fields
5+ years Purchasing Manager experience in the automotive industry
Minimum of 5 years experience in a purchasing or supply chain role within the automotive industry
Strong negotiation, analytical, and project management skills
Knowledge of automotive quality standards (IATF 16949, ISO 31000, ISO 14001, CSR´s)
Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Fluent in English (required)
