Job Summary
Cognizant is looking for a dynamic Delivery Leader with experience delivering enterprise-level, nearshore software and platform engineering services out of Mexico. The individual in this role will be responsible for the delivery of complex software systems and applications to our clients. The individual will play a key role in growing engagements and evangelizing clients on our differentiated offerings. The role is expected to grow the local talent by partnering with Cognizant's talent organizations on lateral hiring, campus recruiting, local partnerships, and continuous enablement of our teams. The individual in this role will ensure that best practices for delivery excellence are followed and that team members contribute systematically to our innovation initiatives. Cognizant needs an individual that has a growth mindset, loves to collaborate with other technologists and enjoys mentoring and coaching.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
• Works with clients, account management and solutioning teams to develop the delivery strategy for the engagement.
• Facilitates successful program kick off, removing blockers and dependencies, and establishing effective governance and communication plans.
• Oversees the end-to-end software delivery process, ensuring high-quality and timely delivery, and managing delivery risk.
• Implements standards, methodologies, and governance frameworks to ensure consistent and high-quality project delivery.
• Selects, mentors, and grows other delivery leaders.
• Leads local innovation activities, including hackathons, continuous improvement proposals and thought leadership activities.
• Creates ramp-up and expansion plans and orchestrates internal and external players towards the achievement of the set goals.
• Contributes to the expansion of our local talent pool, encouraging a diverse and high-performing culture.
• Contributes to the refinement of the operating model that supports growth objectives, maximizes efficiency, and minimizes operational risks.
Key Qualifications:
• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related subjects. Master Degree is preferred.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written, in English and in Spanish
• Background in Software Delivery Management, Product Management or Solution Architecture, with 15+ years of hands-on experience
• Background in running Delivery for a Portfolio, Sub Business Unit or Business Unit, including client management and financial performance management.
• Extensive knowledge of the Software development life cycle (SDLC), software development methodologies and industry best practices. SAFe certification preferred.
• High understanding of Software and Platform Engineering offerings across Digital Engineering, Digital Experience, Quality Engineering & Assurance and Application Development and Maintenance. Experience building Center of Excellence around these areas of practice.
• Connections with academia and the broader local talent ecosystem.
• Domain expertise in at least one of the following industries: Banking, Financial Services, Healthcare, Lifesciences, Communications, Media, Technology.
• Proven experience with distributed development models across onsite, nearshore and offshore locations.
• Proven experience as a senior leader in a fast-growing services organization.
