Automation Maintenance Engineer
The Automation Engineer – Maintenance will design, plan, and execute preventive, predictive, and autonomous maintenance programs with a primary focus on control systems, automation, and electronics. They will identify and modernize obsolete equipment to ensure continuous operation, drive problem-solving initiatives, document failures, and standardize maintenance processes, working closely with technicians and cross-functional teams.
MAIN RESPONSABILITIES:
Design and implement preventive and predictive maintenance plans based on data analysis and trends
Develop autonomous maintenance systems through the integration of automation and control technologies
Identify obsolete equipment or systems with recurring failures in electrical, electronic, and automation systems, proposing and executing modernization projects. (presses, furnaces, grinders, EDM machines) and develop modernization or replacement projects, specifying modern VFDs, PLCs, and control panels
Design and integrate control systems (PLC, SCADA, HMI), industrial electronics, and communication networks (Ethernet/IP, Profibus)
Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for critical failures and document technical solutions.
Standardize maintenance processes and create technical manuals for automated systems. Create and maintain technical documentation: maintenance manuals, electrical diagrams, failure logs, and lessons-learned reports.
Train and collaborate with maintenance technicians on the operation and diagnostics of automated systems and correct basic abnormalities in real time.
Coordinate with production, engineering, and safety departments to align priorities and meet quality standards.
Research and implement emerging technologies (IoT, machine learning) to optimize equipment performance
Ensure compliance with electrical safety and environmental regulations.
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
Proficiency in industrial control systems (PLC, HMI, drives, sensors)
Knowledge of industrial electronics (circuit design, board repair)
Experience with industrial networks (Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Modbus)
Familiarity with diagnostic tools (multimeters, oscilloscopes)
Understanding of maintenance methodologies (TPM, RCM) and predictive data analysis
Problem-solving under pressure.
Communication skills to interact with technicians and managers.
