This role is responsible for managing differentiated structured trade solutions that address our client's working capital needs including but not limited to inventory finance, contract monetization, supply chain finance and receivables finance. Key responsibilities include providing solution recommendations and technical expertise to Front-Line Sales Managers, assisting in the structuring of bespoke working capital solutions, in addition to managing the product life cycle, roadmap, performance and ensuring a high-quality customer experience.
- Lead and deliver strategic Product plans to grow the Global Trade Solutions Business
- Develop and recommend industry leading structural solutions addressing our client's working capital requirements, including inventory finance, contract monetization, Lead and deliver strategic Product plans to grow the Global Trade Solutions Business
- Manage the processes, infrastructure and resources needed to deliver agreed team plans and targets, identifying and implementing improvements and collaborating with colleagues to maximize end to end integration, effectiveness and efficiency
- Maintain a robust and efficient control environment across GTS to ensure good operational, financial and project management and compliance with HSBC policy and procedures, together with early identification and effective resolution or escalation of issues that arise
- Lead the development, implementation and maintenance of a Global / Region management information, analysis and reporting framework that supports and informs timely and effective business management and decision making at all levels
- Preparing and discuss with the relevant Risk Stewards proper governance package (Business Case) for any product/ initiative roll out.
- Develop and execute on key strategic initiatives and programmes that will influence delivery of solutions to our customers across Corporate Institutional Banking
- Develop and deliver the product development strategy for Global Trade Solutions and work in partnership with technology to implement any strategic initiatives that may improve access to the market and maximise underlying revenue by meeting customer needs.
- Understand current economic trends and its impact on HSBC and Global Trade Solutions and identify key levers to capitalise on opportunities or minimise downside exposure.
- Maintain and enhance HSBC's positioning through the planning and execution of conferences, active participation in industry associations, interaction with regulatory bodies and issue market leading publications.
- Lead, develop and motivate the leadership team to attract, retain and develop the capacity, capability and talent to provide for succession and ensure delivery of business objectives
- Maintain a robust and efficient control environment across Global Trade Solutions to ensure good operational, financial and project management and compliance with HSBC policy and procedures, together with early identification and effective resolution or escalation of issues that arise
- Lead the implementation and oversight of Global Trade Solutions policy and governance frameworks, procedures, practices and standards to ensure quality, effective risk management and regulatory compliance
Requirements:
- Relevant product knowledge of GTS products, strong understanding of Structured Trade products (Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, working capital solutions)
- Demonstrable Knowledge of the Global Trade industry, products offered, market trends, competitive landscape and pertinent regulations affecting their delivery
- Proven ability to create an environment that fosters learning, teaching, growth, risk-taking, and innovation
- Solid understanding of digital and/or self-service platforms
- Experience working in relevant environment/s, i.e. Commercial Banking/ Global Banking
- Minimum 5 years proven and progressive financial services product management, sales or structuring experience in trade finance focusing on working capital solutions
- Strong understanding of all end-to end aspects related to Global Trade Solutions product, i.e risk, operations, legal, compliance, regulatory, etc.
- Extensive experience in commercial and business management either in product management, operations or IT with marketing a plus
- Experience of supporting others' performance, enabling them to achieve by providing clear direction, motivation and support
- Both spoken and written communication skills with experience of adapting your style and approach to the audience and message to be delivered
- Proven ability to build successful working relationships with key internal stakeholders – e.g. Risk, Operations, Compliance, FCC, etc.
- Spoken/ Written English is required
- Proven ability to navigate and implement inside a cross functional and matrix organizational model
- Strong team lead, who is comfortable working on multiple assignments, where the teams will often be distributed across the globe and culturally diverse
