CIMMYT is seeking a proactive, with leadership, attention to the detail and customer service-oriented professional for the position of Techer to work in the CENDI of CIMMYT.

The positions will be based at CIMMYT headquarters in Texcoco, near Mexico City, (45 minutes from Mexico City).

Specific duties:

• Develop educational, recreational, feeding, and hygiene activities with children in early childhood and primary education.
• Create teaching plans tailored to the children's ages and needs, addressing cognitive, emotional, motor, and social aspects from a comprehensive perspective to support their optimal development.
• Establish a safe, stimulating, and appropriate classroom environment that meets the children's needs.
• Prepare and organize the necessary resources to carry out the planned classroom activities.
• Assess children's progress and development throughout the teaching-learning process, following established guidelines.
• Participate in the daily reception and handover of children, reporting any health-related incidents to the Medical Service to take appropriate measures.
• Promptly inform the coordinator of any issues concerning the children under their care.
• Guide and support staff under their supervision (assistants, interns) to ensure the proper execution of their tasks.

Required academic qualifications, skills and attitudes:

• The candidate must have studies in Pedagogy, Education, or a related field.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English (B2).
• Proven experience of more than 3 years working with children aged 45 days to 4 years.
• The candidate must be highly responsible, articulate, and have a friendly demeanor, with a problem-solving approach and the ability to work under pressure in a cordial and safe environment where the well-being of children is the top priority.
• Experience and proficiency in using computer equipment, particularly MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• The selected candidate should demonstrate the following competencies: Critical Thinking, Communication, Teamwork, Customer Orientation, Problem-Solving, and Decision-Making
