Position Purpose
The Senior Automation Engineer leads electrical commissioning and troubleshoots implementation after new equipment and tools are installed at the plant site.
Responsibilities
- Support the machine and tool pre-assembly at the customer site.
- Perform I/O checks, safety interlock verification, PLC software commissioning and modification at customer site.
- Responsible for the technical support throughout the entire progress of the project's implementation in the plant.
- Responsible for cooperating with other departments to do technical support at landing and launch phases of the project.
- Reporting the project technical status to the direct manager and relevant personnel in a timely manner.
- Responsible for observing CE and machine regulations.
- Communicate frequently and proactively, while being a change agent.
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics
- Advanced degree in engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or Business strongly preferred
Experience
- 5+ years of experience in the design and commissioning of customized or non-standard electrical automation equipment.
- Proven electrical knowledge, specifically in safety wiring and setup.
- Eplan: Proven ability to read electrical diagrams; and familiarity with the performance of low-voltage control components, such as PLC module, inverter, circuit breaker, relay, soft starter, motor starter and protector.
- PLC/Drive: Familiarity with Allen Bradley, and similar, including PLC programming, HMI design & programming, and Safety Programming.
- Additionally must have strong familiarity with VFD, Servo driver and Pneumatic control system.
- Must have adequate and independent DESIGN experience of Automation projects, as well as installation, programming and debugging, very familiar to diagnose, analysis and resolve.
- Demonstrated ability to create new programs for devices and machines safety, function and reliability.
- Robots: Industry robot programming and commissioning experience, such as ABB, FANUC, KUKA.
