  • Main Activities

Supports Project Manager with the analysis of customer's requirements to determine the optimal process control system solution and applicable control and safety system component selection.

Updates project engineer in regard to status of activities, performance to schedule and budget.

May provides on-site process control system start-up as required

Provide verbal and written reports to communicate project status as required and contribute to project review meetings


  • Secondary Activities

Visit internal and external panel manufacturing facilities to assess progress, provide technical assistance, and for final inspection and sign off.

Coordinates work package execution with remote or third-party resources, reviews quality of work and ensures compliance to customers' requirements


  • Responsibilities

Participate in the technical execution of multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsible for meeting the project schedule, engineering hour budgets, and customer satisfaction objectives for their own activities in support of the project team.

Review project hardware/software for compliance with applicable codes/standards and assure that personnel and machinery safety practices are fully implemented.


  • Required Professional Experience and Technical Skills:

Experience in the Oil and Gas industry: 5-15 years.

Bachelor's degree in engineering discipline or equivalent.

Minimum of 5 years of experience related to control systems engineering related to industrial automation systems (BPCS, CCS, SIS, BMS, HIPPS, LNG).

Minimum of 5 years of related experience in electrical design, including schematics and panel layout.

Minimum of 5 years of experience programming PLC applications, basic and advanced process control (PID, Sequence Control, Narrative Control).

Minimum of 5 years of experience programming HMI applications for local and networked distributed applications (Processes, Alarms, Databases, Faceplates, Monitoring).

Experience in control system applications throughout the project lifecycle, from initial design concepts to installation and subsequent customer support.

Knowledge of process control fundamentals (control loops, loop tuning, instrumentation, control valves, PID interpretation).


  • Desired Technical Skills.

Familiarity with IT infrastructure (Microsoft Server), virtualization (vMware, thin clients), and database (OSI-PI, SQL) set-up, configuration and deployment.

Knowledge of Rockwell Automation Logic Solvers (BPCS and/or safety systems): ControlLogix, CompactLogix, GuardLogix, AAdvance, Trusted.

Knowledge of Networks for Industrial Automation Systems (Design, configuration, and troubleshooting of switches, routers, and Layer 2 firewalls) Stratix Switches

Knowledge of codes and standards applicable to industrial control systems, including NEC, NFPA 72, 85, 86, IEC 61511, IEC 61508, API 14C, and UL508A.

Ability to design using electrical ACAD (optional).


  • Teamwork.

Team player with the ability to integrate with other team project members.

Interfaces with internal and external stakeholders during project execution.
