At Welfare Institute, we are reimagining what learning looks like, and we're seeking passionate educators to join our team as:
Homeroom Teachers (Preschool, Elementary & Middle School)
Team Teachers (Preschool only)
We welcome educators who bring energy, creativity, and a growth mindset — individuals who are ready to challenge conventional models and co-create a new approach to teaching and learning within a dynamic, bilingual environment.
We are especially looking for teachers who design dynamic, engaging classes and are ready to shift from traditional methods to a constructivist, student-centered approach.
What You'll Do
As a Homeroom Teacher ((Preschool, Elementary & Middle School)
Minimum 2 to 3 years of experience at the primary or middle school level is required.
- Lead and manage a homeroom classroom with clarity, structure, and care.
- Design hands-on, inquiry-based lessons that foster curiosity and student engagement.
- Build a positive and inclusive classroom culture centered on student voice and agency.
- Collaborate with fellow educators to create meaningful learning experiences.
- Maintain consistent and open communication with families.
As a Team Teacher (Preschool only):
Minimum 1 year of experience in early childhood education is required. This may include teaching experience, internships, social service, or summer camps involving direct interaction with young children.
- Support instruction in close collaboration with lead teachers.
- Co-plan and co-deliver lessons aligned with the program's goals.
- Participate actively in team planning and school-wide initiatives.
Minimum Requirements
- Full fluency in English is MUST (spoken, written, and reading).
- Spanish is a strong asset.
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.
- Valid teaching certification or license.
- Familiarity with progressive methodologies (e.g., Inquiry-Based Learning, Project-Based Learning, IB).
- Strong classroom leadership and the ability to foster a joyful and engaging learning environment.
- Willingness to grow in a collaborative, creative, and non-traditional setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Education.
- Experience with Readers & Writers Workshop.
- Apple Certified Educator.
- Experience with co-teaching models or the Reggio Emilia approach.
- Background in alternative or progressive education.
