Responsible for all purchasing tasks in the product development process including the procurement of plastic and electronic parts, managing the relationship between project and suppliers, and ensuring that project targets are met with respect to deadlines, quality, and cost/prices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, business management.
• 5+ years in the automotive industry on a similar position.
• Experience in plastics and electronics industry
• Advanced English.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with Commodity Buyers and Lead Buyers on a structured project development process.
• Manage the suppliers and communication with assigned projects/project teams.
• Track status of projects by comparing costs with targets and ensuring quality throughout the project phases.
• Anticipate specific requirements for new projects including target costs, technologies, and location.
• Ensure on-time delivery of purchased parts during the product development process through SOP.
• Negotiate the best possible pricing, quality, and schedule with suppliers during the project phase.
• Own the technical change management for purchased parts until hand-off to series production.
• Manage supplier RFQs (send out, receive, and evaluate).
• Coordinate all purchasing activities with global purchasing organization

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of automotive product validation processes and documentation required.
• Advanced computer skills (Windows, MS Office, and Outlook); SAP experience is preferred.
• Ability to work within a project team environment.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, CAD files, tooling specifications, and electronics material specifications.
• Advanced verbal communication skills, including negotiation and influencing.
• Advanced knowledge of supplier development and sourcing in a manufacturing environment.
