AHF Balance Job description:

AHF Balance is a constraint-programming based tool for managing workload in highly consolidated multi-database systems. The Oracle Database Resource Manager provides Resource Management for individual databases. AHF Balance coordinates across many databases running on common hardware, using workload history to minimize noisy neighbor problems and increase consolidation density.

Job Description:

As a member of the software engineering team, you will assist with the design, development, and debugging of software applications. You will provide technical leadership to other software developers. Significant changes to existing software will be required to meet our customers' evolving needs. This will include (for example) the development of REST APIs in Python.

Desired Skills:

• BS/MS/PhD degree in computer science, computer engineering, or mathematics.
• 4+ years of work experience in software development with a strong focus on quality.
• Familiar with constraint-based optimization, both continuous and discrete.
• Familiar with Resource Management frameworks and tools, such as the Oracle Database Resource Manager, or Linux cgroups.
• Proficient in Python for Data Science
• Proficient in Java
• Proficient in SQL
• Experience in javascript, jquery and web development frameworks like Oracle JET, Angular or React
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and willingness to be a team player.
• Strong analytical skills and an independent thinker

Responsibilities

As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging or designing of software applications or operating systems. Provide technical leadership to other software developers. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.
