Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced and knowledgeable Customs & Trade Compliance Manager to lead and ensure full compliance with Mexican customs and trade regulations, optimize import/export processes, and logistics service providers (LSPs) management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure full understanding and application of customs procedures in Mexico, including:
- Permanent import customs declarations by sea and air.
- NOMs compliance, valuation, recordkeeping, and broker management.
- Have knowledge about how to classify goods using HS codes and determine import duty rates and tariff costs.
- Manage the IMMEX Program, including IMMEX customs declarations, inventory control of temporary imports, and monitor/analyze Annexes 22, 24, and 30.
- Oversee AEO policy compliance, including qualification, self-assessments, audits, and renewal process.
- Analyze trade policies to improve cost-efficiency, customs clearance times, and reduce compliance risks.
- Manage and develop customs relationships; identify preferential trade policies and support business operations with external consultants.
- Optimize supply chain operations by managing logistic and customs strategies, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Design and implement performance appraisal solutions for LSPs to improve logistics service quality.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to lead and execute compliance-related projects.
- Build and manage a high-performing team and promote cultural integration within the organization.
Requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree or above in International Trade, Logistics, Business Administration, or related fields.
Work Experience:
- Minimum 8 years of working experience in customs and trade compliance.
- Deep knowledge of customs procedures, customs clearance, IMMEX Program, AEO authorization, Carta Porte, NOMs framework, and Mexican customs policy.
- Proven ability to manage and lead complex projects related to international trade and compliance.
- Strong team management and leadership skills.
