Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough accessibility testing on web and mobile applications using both automated and manual testing methods to ensure compliance with WCAG, ADA, and other relevant standards.
- Perform UX design reviews with a focus on accessibility, providing constructive feedback to UX/UI designers to integrate accessibility best practices at the design stage.
- Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and scripts that validate accessibility compliance across different devices, screen readers, and assistive technologies.
- Collaborate with design, development, and product teams to guide accessibility improvements throughout the project lifecycle, from concept through delivery.
- Create detailed accessibility audit reports and recommendations, providing clear, actionable feedback for development teams to implement changes effectively.
- Educate and advocate for accessibility best practices within the organization, conducting workshops and training sessions as needed.
- Stay updated on the latest accessibility standards, tools, and emerging trends to continuously improve our accessibility practices.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience (5+ years) in accessibility testing and UX design, preferably in a digital product environment.
- Strong knowledge of accessibility standards and guidelines, including WCAG 2.1, ADA, Section 508, and other relevant regulations.
- Proficiency with accessibility testing tools (e.g., Axe, WAVE, NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver) and screen readers.
- Familiarity with front-end web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and an understanding of how they impact accessibility.
- Experience in reviewing UX/UI designs for accessibility compliance, with an ability to provide practical and constructive feedback.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and advocate for accessibility.
- Relevant certification(s) such as CPACC, WAS, or DHS Trusted Tester is a plus. (Not Mandatory)
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of inclusive design principles and a strong user-centered approach.
- Experience in mobile accessibility testing for Web, iOS and Android.
- Ability to create accessible documentation and resources for internal team use.
