Description
This position manages signal projects & operation projects involving new signal installations and is responsible for the engineering development and planning of new projects drawing up the technical specifications. Implements procedures for project management in the field, trains and advises personnel on their use to ensure successful testing and commissioning of new facilities and acquired technologies. The primary responsibility of this position is to finish projects on time and spend resources efficiently within the allocated budget.
Accountabilities
- Implements the procedures for the management of new projects in the field, inspecting the new facilities and new equipment in conjunction with the signaling supervisor of the territory where the project is developed, to properly manage the deviations that occur.
- Trains and advises on the use of new technologies and equipment, monitors the installation and operation of new technologies to ensure the success of the start-up. Demonstrates operacional excellence by knowing and applying business requirements.
- Demonstrates customer focus in contingency planning to ensure stakeholder expectations are met.
- Understand relevant business metrics and correctly apply procedures to maintain a culture of operational effectiveness by generating teams of high-performing, engaged, and empowered operational leaders.
- Identifies when a rule/regulation/policy has been violated and has one-on-one accountability conversations with the person who has failed to meet expectations through leadership by consequence (CL) by applying the 10 CL tools and the ABC methodology to change behaviors and make the person produce better outcomes.
- Implements programs focused on working safely, demonstrates commitment to core values of safety through the Home Safe program.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:
Required
- University career or technician in electricity, electronics, mechanics or mechatronics
- Minimum two (2) years of relevant operations experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Acumen in one or more disciplines of railroad operations
Preferred
- Three years - Development of engineering, Interpretation, checking and corrections for blueprints.
- Three years - Knowledge on English manuals translation.
Working Conditions
- Shift work is an essential function of this job. Employees must have the ability and willingness to support critically important railroad operations 24 hours per day/7 days per week, working various shifts as assigned. Schedule assignments may include after-hours, weekends and holidays.
