As the Regional Payroll Manager, you will oversee payroll operations across your designated region, ensuring adherence to local and international payroll regulations. You will develop and implement strategic payroll initiatives across multiple countries while maintaining compliance with internal controls, federal, state, and local regulations, as well as time reporting policies.
This role requires the ability to work under tight deadlines while upholding the highest standards of confidentiality
Key Responsibilities:
- Process all payroll components with precision, including time and attendance records, deductions, compensation adjustments, overtime, shift modifications, and withholding updates
- Conduct thorough pre- and post-processing payroll reconciliation as needed
- Generate and distribute essential payroll reports for month-end closing and general ledger posting
- Manage benefits interfaces within the payroll system, ensuring seamless processing and related funding
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve interface data discrepancies affecting payroll accuracy
- Address auditor inquiries and actively participate in payroll audits
- Complete mortgage and employment verification requests efficiently
- Handle inquiries from local tax authorities and provide necessary documentation
- Respond promptly to employee payroll-related inquiries via email or ticketing systems
- Oversee union dues remittance and reporting on a monthly basis
- Collaborate with Human Resources to ensure accurate employee data transfers with proper audit documentation
- Act as the primary contact for payroll and timekeeping system troubleshooting and issue resolution
- Maintain compliance by ensuring accurate completion of periodic and year-end reporting requirements
- Oversee the payroll workflow, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards
- Take on additional tasks and special projects as assigned
About You:
- Highly detail-oriented and organized payroll professional, adept at meeting tight deadlines
- Proven ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, with employees and management
- Strategic and methodical approach to work, maintaining a high level of accuracy and confidentiality
Job Requirements:
- Minimum of 12 years of experience in payroll processing, including expertise with Workday and local payroll providers
- Solid grasp of payroll processing principles
- Exceptional communication skills
- Ability to engage effectively with all levels of management
- Proven ability to thrive under strict deadlines in a high-volume, multitasking environment
- In-depth knowledge of local tax regulations and their implications
- Strong commitment to confidentiality
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word
- Hands-on experience managing payroll for 5,000–7,000 employees
- Comprehensive understanding of compliance requirements and payroll workflows
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with TRESS system preferred.
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification.
· Global experience from large companies is preferred.
