Manage and supervise the purchase of direct / indirect materials, and services for the company; with the overall goal of increasing operational efficiency, improving on-time delivery from suppliers, and increasing profitability through cost savings and inventory management.

Basic knowledge:
• Bachelor Degree in Supply Chain Management/Engineering/Business Administration (Required)
Specific Knowledge:
• English language >90%.
Experience:
* 5-8 years of purchasing experience working in an automotive production purchasing environment
• Minimum 3 years supervising/managing a team.
• Experience in quality management systems and in manufacturing processes in the automotive industry
• SAP knowledge a plus.
• RFQ/Sourcing experience required
• Experience with Electronics and Mechanical components preferred.
Skills:
• Demonstrated organizational, problem solving, financial and analytical skills.
• Ability to lead and influence change in the face of complexity.
• Good knowledge of ISO/IATF quality systems
• Technical/mechanical skills and ability to read engineering drawings.
• Verbal and written communication.
• Ability to use Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point)
• Teamwork.
• Analytical ability for correct decision making.

Key responsibilities
- Prepare the annual work plan for buyers.
- Implement strategies to obtain price reductions and improvements in purchasing conditions for direct/indirect materials, and services.
- Coach, mentor, and train buyers
- Ensure that new parts are sourced on time.
- Comply with the buyer development plan.
- Support buyers in negotiations with suppliers.
- Provide support to the planning, logistics, financial, quality, and production team to ensure a smooth workflow and meet the desired customer service levels.
- Set goals and maintain team performance through metrics and review processes.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Ensure accuracy of contract pricing and accurate reporting of any purchase price variances.
- Coordinate and actively participate in the development of suppliers of materials and services, as well as the evaluation of their quality and reliability.
- Create, implement and maintain local commodity strategies.
- Attend and participate in the Annual Physical Inventory.
- Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.
- This position will adhere to the current BorgWarner Reynosa Occupational Health and Safety Administration and Management System designed and implemented under Mexican legislation and national and international standards that apply. Safety rules, practices and training are included as stated in the BorgWarner Reynosa Internal Work Regulations, which includes the use of equipment, protection devices and/or clothing required by the company. This position will be performed in such a way as to highlight the importance of preventing accidents and illnesses, assuming responsibility for those aspects of the Occupational Health and Safety Administration and Management System over which they have control. All reasonable precautions must be taken in the given circumstances for the protection of your own safety and health and that of co-workers. In addition, you will be responsible for reporting all injuries and/or possible dangerous situations, exposure risks, incidents or accidents that occur to your immediate supervisor, so that preventive and corrective actions can be taken.
