FUNCTIONAL SAFETY SYSTEMS ENGINEER

LER TechForce is looking for a Systems Engineer with Functional Safety experience. This full-time position offers the opportunity to be a part of an engineering team out of Guadalajara, MX focused on developing automotive propulsion systems. We are seeking exceptionally talented individuals that are highly motivated to use their leadership and technical skills to review and improve automotive system software requirements and review functional safety adherence. In this role, you will be developing ISO 26262 requirements and work closely with embedded and application software engineering teams to design and develop ECUs.

JOB LOCATION:
Remote flexible, Guadalajara preferred.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

• Act as SCRUM master for bootloaders
• Act as a link between base software team (BSW) and application software team
• Develop requirements at a software level from application team requirements
• Set the vision and standards for the functional safety
• Develop and document the required work products according to ISO 26262 safety lifecycle
• Develop and define item definitions and perform Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment (HARA)
• Define the functional safety concepts
• Work with the application and embedded software teams to derive functional safety requirements, technical requirements, and software safety requirement
• Identify gaps in current products related to ISO 26262 (Functional Safety) and develop a roadmap to implement design changes in requirements.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
ESSENTIAL:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering or equivalent.
• 3 Years of Experience in relevant engineering roles
• Automotive systems engineering experience
• SCRUM master experience
• Functional Safety / ISO 26262 knowledge

PREFERRED:

• Master's degree in Automotive or Electrical/Electronic/ Software Engineering
• Experience in propulsion systems, automotive
• Requirements experience at a variety of levels
• Architecture experience
• AutoSAR (Automotive open system architecture)
• Software development experience, low level base software (BSW)
• Microcontroller or bootloader experience
• MATLAB, Embedded C
• ISO 26262 Certification
