Job Description Summary As a Staff Engineer in the LM6000 Performance team you will be responsible for developing a wide range of engineering analysis for customers at the different stages of the product life cycle (production, field support, NPI). You will work cross-functionally with several disciplines such as Systems, Operability, Controls, Transient, Aero, and Thermal to provide recommendations based on accurate turbomachinery performance analysis. Will also be accountable for program deliverables for highly complex scenarios, coach and guide other engineers and transfer business acumen to the team.

Performs parametric studies regarding the interaction of the different component of the engine.
Capable of understanding the effect of different ambient conditions and perturbations, of efficiencies and flows, on the overall performance of the engine.
Looks for physical effects that cause significant changes in the performance of an aircraft engine.
Capable of presenting his investigations and results in forums with highly specialized professionals with clarity and technically sound arguments.
Makes use of statistical tools to provide answers.
Looks for creative solutions and constantly finds ways to improve the quality and response time of his work.
Support customer requirements and operational objectives.
Address design, production, and field problems as they arise.
Deliver on time and form as per customers and stakeholders' commitments with safety as priority number 1.
Identify technical and program risks that may represent significant roadblocks and execute risk avoidance / mitigation actions.
Coordinate with global resources and at system level requirements and transform them to tangible products.
Effectively support the Engineering organizations, meeting the KPIs and business targets defined (such as OTD, PSC, Savings, budgets) as well as identifying leading indicators.
Close collaboration with engineering organizations (local and global) towards a clear vision and short/long term priorities alignment.
Represent the Performance discipline with external organizations such as Systems Engineering and Joint Venture among others and be responsible for team's results.
Check own and other people's work.
Document program lessons learned and standard best practices.
Raise awareness of project(s) risks by escalating executive decisions to manager and providing context.
Technical development of the team members and career mentoring of assigned mentees.
Ensure talent pipeline is in place for future growth.
Create and recommend innovative analysis methodologies aligned to GE's LEAN mindset.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics or equivalent.
Experience working with statistical analysis and correlation functions.
Strong knowledge of engine performance concepts and cycle modeling with NPSS.
Recognized technical expert in specific Performance discipline.
Effective technical mentor.
Skills in Project Management: negotiate and adjust project plans, balancing technical, cost impact, budget, and schedule objectives.
Excellent presentation skills and assertive communication of complex analytical approaches and results to senior leadership and external customers.
Ability to adapt plans due to changes in scope and communicate it to multiple stakeholders in a timely manner.
Able to maintain a normal day-to-day fluid conversation in English.
