Amazon Photos helps consumers preserve and re-live their memories. The service comes with unlimited photo storage for Prime members and apps are available on iOS, Android, Web, Desktop, Fire Tablet & Fire TV. The service is also integrated into the Alexa Echo Show device. We have bold goals to scale growth and adoption of the service around the world and delight our customers with a great product.
What you will do: You will provide senior leadership and vision to the Amazon Photos teams in Mexico City. The Mexico City teams will build solutions for Alexa, Echo Show, FireTV and other multi-media devices as well as the associated mobile apps. In this role, you'll grow and manage teams that are strong on Ownership and Customer Obsession. You'll ensure that the best engineering practices are followed and that our software is of the highest quality. You will be a key contributor in our product vision, partnering with product management teams to help define & develop a roadmap of a customer delighting features, and then delivering those features. You will work closely with other teams throughout Amazon to design and architect solutions that will scale to millions of customers.
What we are looking for: You are an experienced senior Software Development Manager who has a track record of building teams and shipping great customer-facing software solutions in complex environments. You are comfortable with ambiguity. You can work with partners, program manager and product managers to develop and deliver strategic roadmaps. You are familiar with building front end applications, and have good judgement on what makes an excellent user experience. You are a skilled agile practitioner, especially at the "team of teams" level. You look for ways to align the technology with the business. You are excited about the opportunity to grow this strategically important vertical.

- Drive continual improvements to the efficiency and flexibility of the software while keeping an extremely high bar on customer trust, performance, and availability.
We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 10+ years of engineering experience
- 5+ years of engineering team management experience
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams
- Experience managing multiple concurrent programs, projects and development teams in an Agile environment
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working remote and hiring internationally.
- Experience working at the junction of software and consumer hardware and working with product managers.
- Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis.
- Experience with fat-client software, thin-client delivery and services.
- Experience with React Native or Android.
- Experience with mobile applications on iOS and Android.
- Bachelor's or Masters Degree in Computer Science or related field
- SAFe certification.
- Advanced writing and spoken English proficiency.
