Main activities
The Audit Analytics Manager will work with the individual Audit teams to identify, design, build, and deliver innovative technology-enabled auditing solutions including:
- Implement and follow an agile, iterative, adaptive approach during the development/delivery of audit technology solutions to meet the timely needs of Audit and add the most value.
- Comply with Global Internal Audit Instruction Manual requirements and Audit Analytics desk procedures.
- Drive discussion and collaborate with GIA teams to identify areas where technology can add value and existing data can be used to improve audit tests and audit knowledge.
- Build and leverage an internal support network (IT, Business Intelligence, Centre of Excellence, Business Users, etc.) to help in solving problems and eliminating hurdles in delivering audit technology solutions.
- Develop and follow sustainable processes to support the Audit Analytics operational requirements, including management of risk associated with performance of the analytic (e.g. cross-border data transfer).
- Develop their knowledge of data sources, structures, meta-data, etc. existing in select Lines of Business or Functions and region for use by the Audit teams.
- Utilize network to source data as needed, observing HSBC policy and relevant regulations (e.g. cross border, data transfer).
- Capture risk drivers in individual Mexico business lines and the LAM Region that allow Audit leadership to monitor and make timelier and better-informed decisions on when, where, and how to deploy audit resources and/or change the timing, frequency, and scope of audit work.
- Continuous tests of control using advanced analytics.
- Participate on the design and delivery of reporting applications.
- Conduct analysis to detect trends and anomalies.
- Suggest remedial actions or escalate detections which give cause for concern.
- Participate in forums, meetings, or events to interpret data and support decision making.
Requirements
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
- Bachelor's degree in information systems, accounting, mathematics, quantitative, numerical science or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Over 4 years of relevant work experience in the financial services, consultancy.
- External or internal audit experience will be advantageous.
- Experience in data analytics or progressive information technology programming experience or equivalent
- Experience applying agile/iterative software development methods.
- Solid experience with Business Intelligence / analytical tools and programming (e.g. Python, Alteryx, Qlik Sense, PowerBI, Tableau, Celonis, SQL).
- Experience with machine learning or artificial intelligence would be a plus.
- Track record in designing and implementing advanced data analytics solutions.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft applications (Excel, Word and PPT).
- Accuracy and attention to detail, including ability to plan work and meet tight deadlines.
- Good interpersonal relationship skills.
- Strong analytical, decision making, interpersonal, time management and problem-solving skills.
- Strong project management skills.
- Enthusiastic, collaborative and customer oriented.
