ResponsibilitiesThe OpportunityThe Visualization Developer will operate within a team of data engineers, database developers, and data analysts to produce best-in-class dashboard solutions for supply chain performance managers, decision makers, specialists and frontline personnel.
Visualization Developer's primary responsibilities include:
- Apply your visualization skills with Tableau and PowerBI to bring insights across supply chain dashboards and deliver a best-in-class user experience. Within projects, develop prototypes and exploratory analysis to serve as a guidepost for the final solutions. Develop visualization approaches and patterns for summary views, interactive views, and table detail views.
- Utilize data skills to define data design and technical requirements to enable the dashboard solutions. Utilize SQL to join disperse data sets and bring harmonized data into the visualization layer. Develop understandings of various system data and data engineering processes and the potential implications on the data.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair issues in existing Tableau and PowerBI Dashboards. Perform visual and functional overhauls of existing dashboards to improve user experience. Trace data issues through ETL processes and partner with data engineers to resolve.
- Partner closely with data engineers and product owners to ensure end-to-end solution is reliable, accurate, and scalable. Partner with team members to align on data design, system design, visual design, and data engineering processes.
Your Impact - Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot Tableau and PowerBI Dashboards, utilizing appropriate visualization types for each scenario, testing various layouts with end users in iterative approach. Utilize best practices for color, contrast, repetition, alignment, and proximity, building out consistent look and feel across supply chain dashboards.
- Utilize SQL to join and harmonize data from various data sources. Partner with data engineers to build and deploy data pipelines to prepare data for the dashboard. Proactively monitor deployed ETL pipelines and resolve issues when failures or issues arise. Perform data validation to ensure data pipelines meet specifations for the business applications.
- Work with the HQ Transportation Team SMEs to ensure reporting and analytics supports the Transportation productivity agenda
- Collaborate with existing report owners to migrate tools, development of new innovative tools and tracking to drive productivity in the areas of $ per mile, $ per case, Out of Route Miles, and other transportation expenses
- Work closely with other team members (business analysts, data engineers, Tableau and PowerBI developers) to collaborate, design, plan work, and develop complete business solutions.
- Support team with ad-hoc analytics, tool troubleshooting, and support end-users directly to resolve tool issues.
QualificationsWho Are We Looking For?
- Fluent in English
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in business systems or information technology
- 2+ years Tableau and PowerBI. Experience using various visualization techniques to build dashboards. Deep understanding of filters, actions, interactivity, data blending, and data models. Experience building wireframes for various personas and developing those into finished solutions.
- Intermediate to advanced SQL skills. Experience utilizing various data sources (such as Oracle, Teradata, Datalake) to harmonize and prepare data for a dashboard solution. Basic to intermediate understand of data engineering (ETL), with expectation to continue learning in this area.
- Experience using various data models in Tableau and PowerBI, ability to define data designs to enable various calculations and dashboard solutions.
- Ability to translate business requirements or ideas into data architecture, data process design, and visual design.
- Familiarity with supply chain or logistics analytics is a plus
- Familiarity with Azure Databricks, PySpark, or Azure Data Factory is a plus
- Familiarity with web development and other programming language(s) is a plus
