Responsibilities & what we are looking for

We are looking for a visionary leader who can drive the growth and development of our operational function in Mexico. As the Operations Director, you will play a critical role in establishing and optimizing our logistics processes, ensuring efficient and effective freight forwarding operations. Your expertise in the areas of road, air, and sea logistics will be essential in delivering high-quality services to our clients.

Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Leadership: Provide strategic direction and vision to the operational function, aligning it with the overall business objectives. Develop and implement operational plans, policies, and procedures to achieve organizational goals.

2. Team Development: Build and lead a high-performing operational team by attracting top talent, providing mentorship, and fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Develop capabilities within the team to establish a leading freight team.

3. Operational Excellence: Drive operational excellence to achieve efficiencies, by identifying opportunities for process improvement, automation, and standardization. Implement best practices to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and ensure optimal resource allocation.

4. Customer Satisfaction: Collaborate with the Commercial team to understand customer requirements and provide innovative logistics solutions. Ensure timely and accurate delivery of services, maintaining a high level of client satisfaction and fostering long-term relationships.

5. Performance Monitoring: Establish performance metrics and KPIs to measure the effectiveness of operational activities. Regularly review and analyze data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.

6. Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with industry regulations, legal requirements, and internal policies. Implement robust risk management practices to minimize operational risks and ensure a safe working environment.

Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in logistics and freight forwarding, with a strong background in road, air, and sea operations.
- Proven track record in leadership roles, driving operational excellence and successfully managing teams.
- Business degree or equivalent qualification in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field preferred.
- Solution-focused mindset with the ability to think quickly and make informed decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to optimize space, resources, and capabilities to maximize operational efficiency.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders.
- Strong business acumen, with the ability to develop and execute strategic plans aligned with organizational goals.
- Fluent in English and Spanish, both written and verbal.
- Cargo Wise Proficiency is a plus
