SUMMARY This position is operationally focused and ensures operational excellence, monitors, maintains, and supports hardware, software applications, databases, networks, security systems, other operational systems and functional requirements definition. This includes ensuring that domain knowledge is institutionalized, providing technical supervision and leadership, using enterprise-level technical skills to coach team members, support customers, resolve problems, provide training as required, functional / technical requirements gathering, documentation, estimation, planning and project management. This may include the evaluation of new systems during the pre-implementation phases.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Regularly maintains, upgrades and supports existing systems to ensure operational stability for business groups.
- Reviews and approves plans and schedules for the implementation of hardware and software changes to ensure continuity of service and successful deployments.
- Approves SLAs for health of hardware and software systems and approves monitoring tools to be able to ensure that established SLAs are met.
- Negotiates with vendors to ensure that all system requirements are met in a timely and efficient manner.
- Maintains relationships with business area leaders, application development and architecture teams to ensure efficient operation of AutoZone's systems across the enterprise.
- Provides training on systems to maximize operator efficiency and increase speed and accuracy of customer service.
- Provides customer support by answering business partners' questions and maintaining a presence at a customer point of contact.
- Has financial responsibilities - budgeting and monitoring expenses.
- Leads operational projects - project estimation, monitor, control, and reporting.
- Selects, develops, and motivates assigned staff.
- Responsible for the development of less experienced AutoZoners; mentors and teaches.
- Performs functional / technical requirements gathering, documentation, estimation, planning and project management on enterprise-level projects.
REQUIREMENTS- Level of formal education: A Bachelor's degree (BA, BS) or equivalent.
- Area of study: Computer Science Systems Engineering or related field
- Years of experience: 7+ years.
- Experience based on consistently demonstrated capabilities.
- Special certifications or technical skills:
- Knowledge of MS Office.
Functional and/or business knowledge of assigned groups.
Technical skills may include experience with one or more of:
Operative Systems (UNIX, Linux, Windows)
Programming Languages (Java, C, C++, others)
Databases (Informix, Greenplum, Hadoop, Oracle, PostgreSQL, DB2/SQL,)
Networking (TCP/IP, Networking, LAN administration, data analysis, computer operations or customer service. - Expert problem solving, relevant domain and analytical skills.
