Purpose

Leads and oversees the Latin American Spanish translation ensuring business strategies, plans and initiatives are executed / delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

The Spanish Manager-revisor leads Spanish translation, revision and proofreading activities. They thrive in a challenging and fast-paced environment and have a high capacity to manage multiple activities simultaneously and meet deadlines.

As a key member of our Linguistic Services team, you will play a crucial role in contributing to our overall success. As a reviser, you will champion a customer-focused culture, translate and adapt high-visibility client-facing financial documents and internal communications, and ensure that translated materials align with brand standards through rigorous quality assurance. You'll actively contribute to large-scale projects, leveraging your expertise to drive impactful outcomes for our clients and the organization.

Accountabilities

· Leads a growing team ensuring optimized capacity.

· Reviews and analyzes translation requests, leveraging in-depth knowledge of corporate and departmental priorities.

· Prioritizes requests to ensure the most efficient use of internal and external resources based on risk and priorities.

· Plans resources in accordance with announced projects and workload trends.

· Assesses the translation channel required (AI, internal, external) and the need for revision of different types of documents based on risk and liabilities, and negotiates deadlines when required. Manages internal client expectations effectively.

· Responds to requests for information from all parties involved in a project, facilitating effective communication. Communicate clearly the processes to follow and expectations to translation requesters.

· Reviews translations provided by an internal automated translation tool, internal translators and external suppliers to ensure tone of voice and articulation are consistent with brand standards.

· Gives appropriate and constructive feedback to colleagues, coaches them to increase their level of autonomy, and foster peer learning.

· Collaborate closely with the Translation Management team and perform other related duties as directed, demonstrating leadership and the ability to adapt to evolving priorities.

· Proofreads, edits and approves final versions (for print, Web, internal systems, etc.).

· Occasionally translates and adapts high-visibility client-facing financial and marketing documents.

· Fosters adoption of and openness to computer-assisted translation technology, follows trends in the translation industry and adapts ways of working where it makes sense.

· Maintains and uses translation memories, terminology bases and style guides.

· Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

· Creates an environment in which his/her team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited.

· Constant flow of projects and requests, both recurring and ad hoc, in a fast-paced environment · Compliance with National Instruments, different laws and regulations · Translation project management using appropriate softwares

Education / Experience / Other Information

· Bachelor's or master's degree in Translation

· 5+ years of experience managing translation services, preferably in a corporate environment

· 7+ years in revision of translated documents from English to Spanish and from Spanish to English

· 10+ years of experience in the translation industry

· Complete fluency in (both written and oral) and excellent cultural knowledge of the source and target languages (Canadian English and Latin American Spanish)

· Skilled user of computer assisted translation tools, MS Office, Adobe, Workfront, etc.

· Strong proficiency with translation and project management technology · Strong knowledge of financial services industry

· Securities Courses considered a strong asset

· Bachelor's or master's degree in Translation

· Previous wealth management translation experience an asset

· 5+ years of experience managing translation services, preferably in a corporate environment
