American company is looking for an Intern in Trade Compliance - Location: Apodaca - Airport Area
PRIMARY OBJECTIVE:
To ensure import-export operations comply with customs clearance and foreign trade compliance requirements, maintain KPI under the minimum transit days and costs, provide all related information to internal customers of arrivals, departures and documentation; effective communication with logistics operators and trade compliance department, and assist on expediting urgent requests.
MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
- Execute and maintain up to date the Import Export Shipments program (Tracking File) and expedite customs clearance.
- Maintain and file compliance records for import, export and supply chain security in accordance as per governmental regulations.
- Respond to inquiries from Customs Brokers and Freight Forwarders about HTS, documentation regulations for timely clearance.
- Expedite production planning department urgent requests.
- Communicate import export operations deliveries and documentation available daily to internal customers.
- Correspond with foreign vendors and purchasing, to obtain documentation for supply chain security and timely customs clearance.
- Maintain and distribute performance reports to measure effectiveness of compliance programs.
- Maintain up to date Classification catalogues of Raw Material, Finished Goods, GNE restricted Part Numbers and SAT classifications in coordination with broker Jamco.
- Review shipping documents and request classifications to customs broker.
- Assist in identifying new procedures and methods to expedite the import and export of shipments, deliveries to the customers, and cost savings plans, for the efficient and compliant operation of the International Trade Compliance Department.
- Audit and file custom broker fees invoices.
- Keeps supervisor informed of important developments, potential problems and risks, and related information necessary for effective management. Coordinates and communicates plans and activities with others, as appropriate, to ensure a coordinated work effort and team approach.
- Performs related duties as apparent or assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Student of International Business and Trade, Administration, Logistics, Supply chain or any related field.
• Strong analytical, organization, risk assessment and communication skills
• Demonstrates a positive attitude about the company, employees, and customers.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with a wide variety of customers, employees and others.
• Responsive to customer needs by providing prompt, appropriate solutions.
• Intermediate English
• Flexibility and adaptability
