The individual will focus on sourcing, qualifying, and managing new carriers. In this role, the successful candidate will develop relationships with new carriers, identify their strengths, match their available capacity with existing lane needs, as well as negotiate rates and contracts. In addition, will be responsible for delivering results by maximizing carrier relationships, reducing cost, improving service, and increasing carrier capacity.

Requirements

• Develop local accident and injury prevention plans and programs.
• Schedules and presents training/orientation programs.
• Holds monthly employee/driver safety meetings.
• Know the local labor market, processes and policies related to drivers.
• Manage driver hours to minimize overtime while maintaining established customer service and delivery metrics
• Audit and monitor the results of background checks, conduct road tests for drivers, and provide appropriate training as needed.
• Ensures compliance with all company, customer, OSHA and DOT regulations, policies and procedures.
• Conduct, review, and document facility safety inspections and assist in the correction of deficiencies.
• Investigates vehicle accidents and employee injuries. Prepares and submits related reports as required.

Availability Monday to saturdays 8 to 5pm

Requisitos

• 3 to 5 years in security and training (transportation industry preferred)
• Previous experience in driver training, safety and compliance.
• Safety driven with expertise in HOS, DOT regulations and driver welfare.
• At least three years of truck driving experience will be valued.
• You must have a solid understanding of the trucking industry.
• Excellent communication skills.
