Job Description
The process engineer is responsible for the technical discipline of implementing and designing the making processes for expansion in Queretaro site.
Scope definition: he/she leads the development, design, and implementation of complex food manufacturing processes and systems. This role is critical in shaping the technical foundation of new production lines or facility expansions, ensuring processes are efficient, safe, and aligned with strategic business and product objectives. She/he also serves as a technical leader and mentor, guiding cross-functional teams through best practices in process engineering and project execution including equipment specifications, factory acceptance testing (FAT), installation and startups ensuring that all manufacturing needs and success criteria are properly covered.
Project Execution: He/she holds the interface between the project and operation teams during the execution, installation completion, turnover, commissioning and startup. The process engineer provides the “technical correctness” and correct interpretation of the making technology and its peripherals (e.g.: dust control, processing conditions), process making
KEY RESPONSABILITIES
- Lead the front-end engineering design and detailed engineering phases for new food processing lines, including process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), equipment specifications, and utilities integration
- Installation and startup of powder mixing extrusion and pelletizing lines.
- Work with Manufacturing to ensure that the process making designs are optimized for manufacturability.
- Develop and implement comprehensive test plans to ensure that finished products exceed customer specifications.
- Oversee and manage complete development process, including the creation of designs and performance testing.
- Troubleshoot automatic process-making and processing problems involving electromechanical processes and provide creative, timely, and cost-effective solutions.
- Analyze engineering drawings and specifications of products to determine physical characteristics of item, special handling, environmental and safety requirements, and construction materials required for process-making.
- Establish standards and guidelines for supplier evaluation. Evaluate and select process equipment suppliers/vendors; periodically conduct vendor reviews.
- Work closely with global suppliers, engineering, product management, operations, and sourcing.
- Identify and implement cost saving initiatives related to production, labor, efficiency, transportation, and storage.
- Work closely with Engineering teams to optimize manufacturing supply base for cost, lead time, quality, regionalization, standardization, supply assurance, and compliance with customer, regulatory, and internal requirements.
- Specify and recommend efficiency tools and test methods to develop and validate manufacturing process designs.

About You
You're a fit for the role if your background includes:
- Bachelor's or master's degrees in chemical engineering, Food Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 8–10 years of experience in process engineering within the food or beverage manufacturing sector (animal feed & pet is a plus).
- Proven leadership in process design and capital project execution, preferably including greenfield or major brownfield projects.
- Strong understanding of hygienic design principles, food safety regulations, and validation protocols.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Fluent in English (verbal and writing)
- Practical, hands-on, active attitude and interest to engage pro-actively with project teams.
- Proficiency with MS Office tools such as Word, Excel, plus MS Project, and AutoCAD
