Operations Specialist (Jr. Manager position)
Job Summary:
The Operations Department Specialist is responsible for supporting all factory operations and serves as a first point of contact between all office departments and factory management teams to ensure a consistent and manageable flow of work and communication to meet Company production and operation plans.
The Operations Department Specialist provides technical support and follow up to the strategic processes in the plant; this includes the areas of Production, Materials, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, Sheet Metal, Lean Manufacturing, and Process Engineering.
Confer with plant staff implement quality systems, MES and processes that result in improved internal and external quality for the customer, as well as improved productivity and production efficiency.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: other duties may be assigned:
• Determine and advise on various operations related issues such as, not limited to, damaged parts, packaging choice/type for products, standardization of processes, work order creations, customer complaints, and operations related topics requiring regulatory compliance.
• Develop and implement 2 Second Lean Program by providing guidance on how to complete initiatives for 2 Second Lean, reviewing of issues with departments to remedy issue identified, ensure safety and quality are not affected by 2 Second Lean initiatives, and creating and leading training for new leaders about the 2 Second Lean Program.
• Determine how to support internal customers including all factory shifts and locations, including nights, weekends, and office departments on behalf of the Plant Manager.
• Develop and organize Employee Involvement Meetings for factory team members, which may involve attending night and weekend shift meetings and attend or provide guidance when requested for office Employee Involvement Meetings.
• Coordinate any factory operations tours or operations audits for both external and internal clients.
• Expected to represent the Operations Department in various Company initiatives and make independent decisions on behalf of the department.
• Develop, analyze, and present information in various formats to the Plant Manager including, but not limited to, production reports, “Coolers online over 24 hours” report, and data from troubleshooting items including analysis of underlying issue.
• Expected to create and maintain proper documentation and file maintenance for the Operations Department.

Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Bachelor of Engineering Degree; Desirable master's degree
- 10+ years of experience in Quality, Lean, Six - Sigma
- Must possess a strong working knowledge of Assembly and Sheet Metal
- Must have strong influence/leadership skills
- Must be proficient in MS Word and Excel
- Must be willing to work flexible hours as needed
- Ability to speak Spanish and English
- Ability to travel to USA
Education (Choose minimum required)
Bachelor's Degree diploma.
Experience
10 or more years' related experience and/or training.
Language Skills
English: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumferences, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. The ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
