The Role

We are looking for a Lead DevOps Engineer of a new team that will focus on a new company product offering. The Lead DevOps Engineer will be responsible for the cohesive integration of the new DevOps team with their Development, QA, and Operations peers. The Lead DevOps Engineer will have a holistic approach about systems when driving the definition, build, deployment and operations of applications for the new product.

We are creating a new product that will seamlessly integrate streamed data from multiple sources within Solera offering it in one location for the customer. Our products intersect with all the current and exciting trends in the automotive and transportation industries and our business is growing every year. Our people and our platforms are the foundation and enabler of that growth.

We are seeking an individual who will take ownership of the new team and can help build the appropriate bridges and processes across the various teams, leveraging experience with minimal direction, while balancing trade-off and strict processes and methodologies in a fast-paced environment. This individual will lead the creation and evolution of our CI/CD pipelines for deployment and operations of solutions across various environments which may include on-prem or cloud systems.

We expect the ideal candidate to be proficient in the following technologies and tools (list not exhaustive), in particular the CI/CD and Infrastructure stacks:

CI/CD: Spinnaker, GitLab/Bitbucket pipelines, Jenkins, NuGet, SonarQube

Source Control and Processes: Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket/Git/GitHub/GitLab

Languages: Python, bash, PowerShell, batch

Infrastructure: Linux/Windows, AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes/EKS, Docker

Backend: Cassandra, Kafka, Redis, Elasticsearch, Prometheus, Grafana, Alert Manager, SQL

Traditional internet and security protocols (HTTP, TLS, PKI)

What you'll do

Leadership in a very agile and fast paced environment of the CI/CD pipeline for deployment and operations of systems including Infrastructure as Code

Create and maintain the continuously evolving CI/CD pipelines across environments

Develop with cross-functional teams' strategies towards higher organizational throughput via automation and flexible processes

Design and create reliable continuous deployment solutions that will yield higher availability and uptime for our internal and external customers

Help the team balance and plan longer term projects against the demands of a fast-changing environment

Diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve issues related to environments

Support Development and QA teams along the steps of the Software Development Life Cycle by maintaining environments and tools

Maintain and develop documentation to facilitate understanding of products, features, and tools, including training material

What you'll bring

Minimum Qualifications

B.S. or M.S. Degree in Computer Science/Computer Information Science or equivalent experience (M.S. highly desirable)

5+ years of experience driving CI/CD for systems being deployed to cloud providers (proficiency with AWS services and associated setup/operations highly desirable)

5+ years of experience in a 24x7x365 global SaaS/PaaS operation

5+ years of experience with virtualization and Docker containers

Proficiency with scripting languages (PowerShell, batch, bash, Python, or equivalent)

Preferred Qualifications

You demonstrate proficiency the technologies in our stack (see above) with 5+ years of experience of the tools and technologies we leverage, in particular the CI/CD and Infra stacks.

You demonstrate a high sense of urgency, ownership, and leadership

You take great pride in helping teams and individuals

You have competence in building and designing complex systems leveraging multiple technologies (legacy and new)

You can demonstrate and ensure consistency in line with industry best practices for CI/CD, code quality, operational readiness, and security

Strong organizational skills in a fast paced and fast changing environment

You are driven, self-motivated to learn and ramp up fast

You are candid and are able to hold your own as the DevOps representative in cross-functional teams

Advanced Cloud experience, preferably AWS, is strong plus.

Agile program experience a plus (Scrum, Sprints, Retros, etc...).

Experience with Jira & Confluence a plus.
