Project Manager
The Project Manager is expected to work under minimal supervision to identify and determine the direction of complex chiller projects by managing assigned orders through the order execution, engineering, manufacturing and startup phases. Working in a team environment, the Project Manager will develop and document the plan, ensure adherence, and manage risk factors identified in each contract. The assigned customer orders will have a high degree of complexity or special circumstances when compared to standard products. The projects must be managed according to strict customer and financial requirements. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of core, extended and support team members, suppliers, contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan.
Periodically, the Program Manager will also be tasked with leading change management initiatives for the business. In this function, the Program Manager will be working closely with engineering, manufacturing, and other groups within Johnson Controls to study and implement new business workflows, with the end result being a more streamline ordering and manufacturing process, both internally and externally to JCI.

- Determine and assess the need for additional team members or resources and communicate additional needs to leadership when project goals are being affected.
- Plan, schedule, and track project timelines, deliverables, and milestones using appropriate tools. Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.
- Identify and resolve project scope, financial and schedule impacts related to manufacturing issues.
- Build, develop and grow business relationships with customers and suppliers vital to the
success of JCI's specially engineered products.
Continuous Improvement:
- Conduct project post-mortems and create a lessons learned report in order to identify
successful and unsuccessful project elements.
- Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management.
Leadership:
- Coach, mentor, motivate and provide leadership to project team members and influence
them to take positive action and accountability.
- Identify and engage required resources depending on status or project phase.
- Coordinate and lead a cross-functional project resource team to ensure clear and accurate communication necessary to deliver the project on time and budget.
- Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.
Communication:
- Develop project plans, financial reports, resource plans and associated communications
- Deliver project status reports when requested and facilitate proactive communication whenever project goals or delivering customer commitments are at risk.
Requirements:
- BS/BA required, preferably in Engineering.
- Minimum 10 years BAS or HVAC related experience in project or program management, supply chain planning or engineering is required.
- Willing to travel 15% of the time, both domestic and international.
