Are you looking to work for a company that provides an innovative work environment, and your voice is heard? We have a need for a Product Design Engineers to work in Matamoros Mexico. This role will require the engineer to work full time onsite in Matamoros Mexico and travel to the US as needed. The Product Design Engineer will need to have a B1/B2 work visa to be able to travel to the US. The Product Design Engineer will be working in Solid Edge.

What you will be doing
- Lead Engineering activities to support core pedal and sensor products for WAVE and CIP cost savings projects, as well as some new product design activities.
- Mechanical design using Solid Edge software, as well as understanding of tolerance stack-up analyses, mathematical modeling of product function and performance, etc. Design for injection molded plastics is preferred.
- Ensure product design and performance compliance with CTS, regulatory and customer specification for any WAVE and CIP cost initiatives.
- Ensure adequate project and technical communications (e.g. meetings, oral reports, technical reports) with CTS personnel, management, suppliers and customers.
- Determine lessons learned and aid with feedback to design and product development groups
What you will need to be successful
- Must be fluent in both English and Spanish
- Must have design experience
- Knowledge and understanding of automotive industry procedures/systems, e.g., IATF-16949, APQP, FMEA, change control processes, etc.
- Understanding of cause and effect relationships to provide the skill to identify and solve problems using tools such as FTA, 8D, 5-why analysis, fishbone analysis, DOE etc.
- Experience with DFMEA and/or DRBFM
- Self-motivated and results orientated, proactive with outstanding planning and follow up skills.
- Capable of prioritizing multiple projects/tasks, including projects involving global teams
- Able to communicate and write effectively resulting in a clear understanding of the issues, both English and Spanish.
- Ability to effective communicate internally as well as with customers and suppliers.
- Experience working with External customers required.
- Ability to use Microsoft office required.
- Automotive Quality Standards experience required.
- Technical Bachelor's Degree required.
- Minimum of 3 years of Automotive experience highly preferred.
- Must be able to travel to USA for 2-3 weeks at a time for training, possibly several times per year.
Preferred skills
- Experience with Solid Edge or similar CAD program preferred
- Familiarity with high volume production products and production lines preferred.
- Familiarity with test and validation of products preferred.
- Familiarity with test systems, computer programming and PLC programming preferred
