Description - Packaging Engineer supporting all North American manufacturing sites.
- Work with packaging vendors to design & validate returnable and expendable packaging for inbound, outbound & interplant needs.
- Work with Industrial Engineers and Operation Engineers to execute inbound and interplant packaging to work line side for manufacturing assembly operations.
- Review / approve customer proposed packaging for conformance to optimization, part protection, & ergonomics.
- Perform packaging studies / cost analysis, including business case analysis for returnable vs. expendable.
- Coordinate and complete packaging cost estimates for new business pursuit & service products.
- Coordinate with PC&L for freight estimates for business case analysis.
- Obtain Inteva plant approval for inbound and interplant packaging solutions.
- Maintain packaging cost and design documents.
- Support plant with root cause analysis of packaging issues relative product quality.
- Support operations on "plan for every part" submissions.
- Support product development team and their needs for new product launches
- Submit packaging approvals / details via forms & web portals.

Position Requirements - Bilingual Spanish/English Speaking.
- Proven track record of leadership capabilities to conduct container buyoffs and drive container optimization.
- Works effectively in a team environment.
- Excellent problem solving skills.
- Proficient in Word, Excel, Power Point, and Project.
- Strong degree of self-motivation and self-direction.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a demanding situation.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles
- Work experience in automotive industry or industrial/manufacturing engineering.
- Experience in manufacturing processes and equipment.
- Operations experience.
- Experience with AutoCAD
Education Requirement Bachelors degree in Engineering.
