About the Role

The role of Discrete Event Simulation Specialist combines knowledge about production, logistic, data and process modeling and analysis, and scenario analysis to reduce waste, increase efficiency, and provide solutions to current and future Magna production plants.

Your Responsibilities

• Building Discrete Event Simulation (DES) models with focus on throughput, resource utilization, resource synchronization, constraints, blockage/starvation, process improvement
• Conducting logistic studies to determine material-flow, capacity, and layout optimizations
• Conducting buffer capacity optimization, and machine/operator/station utilization studies
• Building process charts to represent man-machine/process sequences (Cycle Time Charts)
• Conducting statistical analysis of key performance indices
• Collecting data to validate and calibrate models

Who we are looking for

• Strong knowledge and practical experience in Simio
• Strong knowledge of 2D/3D CAD, and practical experience in line and process layout, lineside presentation
• Knowledge of MS Excel and programming languages (VBA, C#, or Python)
• Experience with automotive assembly processes
• Excellent English skills (fluent in spoken and written, presentation skills)
• Post-secondary education (e.g. technical school, college, university, or special studies)
