Job Description: We are looking for a Hardware Validation & Cloud Server Qualification Engineer with expertise in server hardware validation, memory & storage qualification, automation, and Azure DevOps. This role requires strong debugging skills, collaboration with suppliers and internal teams, and technical leadership in driving successful product development. Key Responsibilities: • Oversee hardware qualification for memory and storage across various usage models. • Debug and drive resolution for hardware qualification issues in Microsoft's Cloud Servers. • Work with suppliers and internal teams (OEMs, ODMs) to resolve technical challenges. • Review system SKUs, software stack, OS, BIOS, BMC, and RM configurations for each Test Run Request (TRR). • Review and ensure commodity storage and memory device test plans align with qualification standards. • Develop and execute test plans, recommending test lists for each TRR. • Track qualification run status, debug issues, and remove roadblocks for smooth execution. • Analyze, disposition, and report bugs for each TRR. • Work with execution engineering teams to review results and generate sign-off reports. • Maintain and update Azure DevOps (ADO)Boards for TRR sign-offs. • Support pre-qualification (SIP), working with suppliers to resolve issues. • Modify and troubleshoot test scripts and automation environments as needed. • Develop Power BI / PowerApps dashboards to visualize and analyze qualification results. • Write and optimize Kusto queries (KQL) for data analysis (preferred). • Query and retrieve SKU configurations & recipes using OnePDM. • Review and interpret BOMs, SKUDOCs, and CRDs for Azure cloud servers. • Demonstrate technical leadership in driving successful product development. Required Qualifications: • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. • 5+ years of experience in hardware validation and troubleshooting. • Strong knowledge of x86 server systems, system memory, and storage architectures. • Experience with Azure DevOps Boards for Tracking the requests. • Familiarity with networking, power, rack management, and remote access environments. • Ability to develop and execute batch scripting or Powershell scripts and automation for validation tasks. • Excellent problem-solving skills, debugging expertise, and attention to detail. • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally in a collaborative team environment. Preferred Qualifications: • Experience with cloud server infrastructure for Data centers. • Proficiency in Power BI, PowerApps, and Kusto queries for data visualization and analysis. • Experience in large-scale cloud server validation and optimization. What is your experience with server motherboards, storage devices (HDDs, SSDs, NVMe), and RAID configurations? 4. Have you used Azure DevOps for Test Runs Management? Can you provide an example? 5. How do you typically debug hardware failures in a server validation process? What tools and techniques do you use? 6. Have you built Power BI dashboards to track validation results? Can you describe how you used them? 7. What is your experience with PXE / Windows Deployment Server environments? How have you used them in server provisioning? 8. Can you provide an example of how you demonstrated technical leadership in driving a validation project?
